These images show photobiomodulation therapy in use during a patient’s treatment. This red light therapy is used to help prevent and treat oral mucositis, a painful side effect that can occur during chemotherapy.

Thanks to the leadership and expertise of Rachel Lott, a professional staff nurse on 9B, this therapy was introduced to the unit and has already shown impressive results for patients. As demand has grown, the need for a second machine became clear so more children can benefit from this care.

With the support of the Carrie Martin Fund, we are proud to help make this possible and expand access to this important treatment for even more patients. 💜
