Dr. Richard Moriarty is an esteemed alumni of the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. In 1971, he established the Pittsburgh Poison Center at the hospital. He invented Mr. Yuk, the green faced poison warning symbol. Many consider Mr. Yuk the first emoji.
